El Ford GT he is a living legend. His story has occupied some of the golden pages of the world of motoring and competition. It is one of those models where the name makes the difference. It is the most performance, fast and sporty model that Ford manufactures at the moment, leaving behind special versions of the Ford Mustang, another of his icons.

The history of the GT is associated with the 24 Hours of Le Mans. the war between Ferrari and Ford in the 60s resulted in the launch of the GT40. Its name derives from the category in which it competed, GT, and the total height of the car, 40 inches. Although the GT40 never transcended the limits of the circuits, in 2003. the brand wanted to pay tribute to him with the launch of the first generation of the Ford GT.

Technical characteristics of the Ford GT

The Ford GT is a purebred sports car. A model designed and produced by the competition branch of the American house. Billions of dollars and some of the most modern advances in the industry have been invested in its development. It rests on a racing chassis made of aluminum and carbon fiber with the aim of reducing the final weight as much as possible, 1.460 kilograms.

Despite its stylized line, the GT's measurements are quite contained: 4,78 meters long, 2 meters wide and a height of 1,11 meters. To these levels must be added a wheelbase of 2,71 meters that has a two-seater passenger compartment with a centrally positioned engine. Its seats are part of the structure of the car, in the purest style of the world of racing or karts.

In this case we cannot mention any trunk volume. The Ford GT is intended for the circuits, and therefore lacks storage spaces. The only figure provided by the American brand is 11 liters, which come from a tiny trunk at the front. Unlike conventional models, and since the seat is anchored to the chassis, it is the pedals that adjust to the position and not the other way around.

Everything in the GT is designed to reinforce its dynamic behavior. Ford is also not very lavish in allowing significant interior customization. The goal is to reduce the weight of the set and not hamper performance, and therefore much of the cabin is made of real carbon.
