At the moment they are a rarity, but all the brands are already beginning to position themselves for those future years. The Koreans are working harder than anyone else, launching models that are really suitable for a general market. The Hyundai ioniq 5 it is the last of his creations, and the first of a new family. Officially presented in 2020, just two years later it receives an update, mainly focused on technical improvements.

Many brands have decided to separate their electric models from the general range. Hyundai has decided to integrate the Ioniq 5 into the family, although with a special nomenclature that at the time was initiated by the Hyundai Ioniq 2016 the year. In the future this new division will grow until it has a wide range of models, the next to appear will be the Ioniq 6, a saloon, and the Hyundai ioniq 7, a large SUV.

Although it may not seem like it because of its shape or size, the Hyundai Ioniq 5 is a mid-size crossover. It could be considered to be at the larger end of compact crossovers. His design philosophy is something completely new in the Korean house, and in reality it does not follow any known pattern, since the successive models of the Ioniq range will have an equally particular style.

Vehicle development involves the development of new technologies and components. The main one is the structure, or the platform on which the rest of the compounds rest. The Ioniq 5 uses the e-GMP platform of the Hyundai group, developed exclusively for 100% electric vehicles. It is the first to offer it, and given its modular nature, it can be adjusted to different models or bodies.

In this particular case, and as we have already said, it is a compact crossover with a generous wingspan that almost makes it jump to the next level. Outwardly it reaches 4,64 meters long, 1,89 meters wide and 1,6 meters high. To these dimensions must be added a leading wheelbase in its category with 3 meters in length. A very wide battle that allows you to offer a very spacious cabin.

Since the batteries are installed in the bowels of the car, the interior offers a completely flat floor. Three passengers will be able to go behind with some comfort. Regarding load capacity, the Hyundai Ioniq 5 offers a minimum trunk of 555 liters, expandable to 1.600 liters if we completely lower the rear bench. To this we must add a small front trunk of between 24 and 57 liters of capacity, depending on the version.
