Models Lada
discontinued models
the russian manufacturer Lada (belongs to AutoVaz, which in turn is part of the Renault-Nissan Alliance) has always been characterized by its economical cut models, fair quality, limited equipment possibilities and simple designs. Their model range has always been characterized by be more focused on the tastes of Russian consumers than the rest of Europe.
In Spain the impact of Lada has been limited. The decades with the greatest sales boom were the 80s and 90s. Some of the firm's best-known models have been the Samara (and its derivatives), the Kalina and the Niva. However, the sale of their models have never been able to overcome that of rival firms such as Dacia or Tata.
The only model that is for sale in Spain is the 4x4 offroad veteran (formerly known as Niva). This model has been sold without changes (more than mechanical) since 1977. On a technical level, it is developed on a monocoque body with three doors, permanent four-wheel drive and front engine. Over the years it has changed its engines to comply with anti-pollution regulations, but for safety, quality or technology it is a model that has remained in the last century.
History of Ladas
Lada is a Russian car brand, currently owned by Renault. In Spain it will always be known for marketing models like the Lada Niva, an off-roader with a good reputation. The Lada range in Spain has never shone by offering cars with outdated technology and finishes by European standards, such as the 110 series. Perhaps the best time for the brand in Spain was the 80s and 90s with the Niva and Samara. Despite them, in eastern markets it is a brand that sells a lot thanks to the fact that the cars are reliable.
