The Toyota Avensis is the D-segment model of the Japanese firm. It is currently in its third generation, and in its second update, which was presented at the 2015 Geneva Motor Show.

This facelift incorporates a completely new design for both the front and rear bumpers. The interior was also updated, and the Toyota Safety Sense system was added, which improves safety in the Japanese sedan.

Its dimensions are 4,75 meters long, 1,81 meters wide and 1,48 meters high, thus having a wheelbase of 2,70 meters. With these dimensions, its interior space is considerable, being one of the best on the market. Its trunk, on the other hand, is 509 liters, a considerable volume for the D segment to which it belongs.

Its dimensions are 4,82 meters long (increases 7 centimeters with respect to the sedan variant), 1,81 meters wide and 1,48 meters high, with a wheelbase of 2,70 meters. The increase in length provides even more interior space and improves the boot volume figure, which now stands at 543 litres.

The mechanical offer of the Avensis is quite scarce, finding only two propellants, one diesel and the other gasoline, without a hybrid option, one of the main characteristics of Toyota.

The gasoline engine, designated 140, is a 1.8-liter 4-cylinder engine that produces 147 horsepower, while the diesel engine, designated 150D, is a 2.0-liter 4-cylinder engine that develops 143 horsepower.

Currently, officially, Toyota only markets the Advance finish in our country, although previously there were two finishes, a lower one called Business, and a higher one, Executive.

The Advance finish, which is the only one available, incorporates elements such as a 7-inch screen with the Toyota Touch 2 system, rain and light sensors, the Toyota Safety Sense security package and 17-inch two-tone wheels.

Toyota Avensis according to EuroNCAP

The Japanese saloon obtained in the EuroNCAP European safety tests, the Toyota Avensis achieved the highest score, 5 stars.

Regarding specific safety, the Japanese model obtained 93% for adult occupant protection and 85% for infants, while pedestrian protection was 78%. On the other hand, the vehicle security systems achieved 81%.

Its main rivals are in segment D and come from general firms such as Peugeot, Renault or Hyundai.

The prices of the Toyota Avensis in its sedan variant are very contained, starting from 18.950 euros for the 140 gasoline engine, which offers a power of 147 horsepower, and which is accompanied by the Advance finish. Its most expensive version is the diesel variant, with a price of 20.850 euros.

Avensis Touring Sport

The price of the family variant of the Avensis increases prices slightly, starting from 20.200 euros for its 140 version with manual transmission and 147 horses and reaching 22.100 euros for the 150 diesel engine with manual transmission.
