Just a few weeks before its first 100% electric sports car reaches dealerships in our country, Alpine announces a new model that will be positioned just above that A290It will still take some time to discover all its secrets in a more precise way, but at least we will get an idea during the next Paris Motor Show when the French present the prototype that will give us an idea of the shapes of what we will know by the name of Alpine A390.
They will reveal it next time October 11 at the aforementioned Parisian event and, although as we say it will still be a conceptual unit designed exclusively for the show, it will surely leave many glimpses of what the final model will end up being. You only have to look at an image of the A290_β, the prototype of the A290 that could be translated as the "Turbo 2 of the XNUMXst century", to see that the similarities with the production version are numerous.
Alpine A390, the brand's second electric car
Of course, this future A390 will follow in the footsteps of its little brother in the electrification strategy from the Dieppe-based manufacturer. As they have already made public on more than one occasion, Alpine's most immediate plans involve carbon neutrality, and this is further proof of that.
It is still unknown how much performance the A390 will be able to achieve. However, some rumours already speak of the possibility of offering a version with up to 600 hp of power and a range of around 600 km with each recharge. What is confirmed is that it will debut a body of the type fastback which could even be combined with details typical of a Crossovers, such as plastic wheel arches or a slightly raised ride height.
According to the French brand, It will be ready by 2025 and its numerical surname will refer, on the one hand, to the vehicle segment (the 3) and, on the other, to the range of multipurpose cars for everyday use (the 90). In this sense, its length should be around 4,5 meters.
