Audi continues with its roadmap for the total electrification of its range. In it, the competition is very present, both for marketing and for technical tests to later apply all that information collected in the production models. A few days ago we learned that the brand with the four rings is going to be in Formula 1 in 2026. Now it presents its new Audi RS Q e-tron E2 for the Dakar 2023.

The car debuted in the last edition of the Rally Dakar, doing it successfully and without any problem in the worked propulsive mechanical part. And it is that, we remember, the Audi Sport team is committed to a motorization that could be considered an extended-range electric motor with a gasoline engine. This car for the next Dakar is an evolution the one used during the past season.

They comment from the German brand that this RS Q e-tron E2 does not retain a single piece of the bodywork of the previous variant. It has been redesigned for optimize weight, reducing it, and also the center of gravity has been reduced.

They have also worked on the aerodynamics, changing the hoods, the shapes of the bodywork and have dispensed with part of the rear bumpers of the front wheels. Aerodynamic drag has been reduced by around 15%.

On the other hand, engineers have made adjustments in the management of the propulsive part to avoid brief excesses of power at very specific moments, such as when the wheels lose contact with the ground on jumps or on very irregular terrain. “The software now recalculates two individual limits, one for each motor, in milliseconds. As a result, the system works accurately within the permitted limits.".
