Bridgestone introduces a new generation of its summer tire for passenger cars and SUVs. Called Bridgestone Turanza 6 and, as the manufacturer itself indicates, it is an evolution of the well-known Turanza T005. On the other hand, and before discovering its main characteristics, it is important to mention that it has been developed and is manufactured in Europe, being the Burgos Spanish Plant one of the factories in which it is produced.
Bridgestone says that this new Turanza 6 it is also prepared for the demands of electric and hybrid vehicles. We did not expect less from such an important product for Bridgestone, even more so considering that the trend of cars in Europe is very focused on that path.
And is that electrified vehicles have distinct characteristics than traditional cars. Some differences that must also be taken into account when designing a tire. For example, they are heavier, have a higher torque and efficiency is a fundamental pointTherefore, rolling resistance must be reduced as much as possible. All this, of course, without losing dynamic capabilities.
Therefore, and said the above, the formula must be very worked and offer great performance in all areas for cars with traditional, hybrid and electric engines.
In another order of things, the Bridgestone Turanza 6, which is already on the market, offered in 34 different dimensions and with a total of 136 different references. That's it available for 17-inch to 22-inch wheels, expanding to 16-inch in 2024. Of course, they aim to reach the largest number of vehicles and needs of European drivers, whether it's summery or raining.
Comparing with the previous, with the T005, the tire manufacturer claims that it offers a 4% less rolling resistance, reduces noise by 2 decibels and increases tire durability by no less than 22%. To this we must add that it has the label A grip in the wet.
Finally, the manufacturer declares that has been conceived to be more efficient, sustainable, ecological and economical in all phases, from design and development testing to real-life use by drivers. In fact, they have used virtual technologies to reduce the number of physical kilometers traveled during development.
