Mazda it keeps trying to carve out a hole and eat a bigger piece of the pie in every corner of the planet. A few weeks ago we already announced that the Hiroshima firm had given some advance of the Next Mazda CX-90, which will be presented in just a few days, in January 2023.
A priori, this car has been specifically designed for the American market and will not reach Europe, where its counterpart should be the Mazda CX-80. But going back to the new CX-90, the car brand has left some new drops of information through a teaser on his US website.
The Mazda CX-90 will be available in the US and its powertrain will be plug-in hybrid PHEV…
"Mazda's first nationally available electrified vehicle”, can be read on the Mazda website at United States; referring to what will be the first electrified Mazda available in the country. It will not be a 100% electric vehicle, but a plug-in hybrid model (PHEV) of which there is not much data yet.
And it is that the brands they have to adapt to the regulations, tastes and preferences of the clients of each market. In the case of this new Mazda CX-90, which will be a large SUV with up to 7 seats with a plug-in hybrid scheme, there will be good performance, but also high efficiency if the electrical part is used properly, charging it almost daily. .
Taking advantage of the unique traits and characteristics of combustion and electrification, we are able to deliver responsive performance and efficiency, in perfect harmony.
What we do not know is if there will also be other versions with the six-cylinder heat engine and without being plug-in or if directly all Mazda CX-90 sold in the United States will be PHEV variants. We will have to wait a few more days, for its official presentation, so that all these details are official.
