The next Porsche Macan will be fully electric

Porsche Macan S

El Grupo Volkswagen It is clear to him and he goes for it. The electrification of models that the different brands of the German consortium have is beginning. The first to undertake this path is Volkswagen itself, but the rest of the firms already have the steps to follow on the tables of their respective directors. Audi, Seat and Skoda itself already have one or more models that will hit the market powered by batteries. Nevertheless, this electrification will also reach the most exclusive brands of the group and therefore Porsche will not be left out.

You don't have to be a great connoisseur of the sector to know that Porsche has been resurrected in the market thanks to the launch of the Cayenne and then to the Macan. Both models are the best sellers in the manufacturer's range and are therefore the first to be designed to make the leap to the electric offensive. This news has already been confirmed by Oliver Blume himself, CEO of Porsche, because according to his words the next Mission E and the electric Macan they are to account for 50 percent of the brand's model sales by 2023.

These statements are very enlightening, because it has not only stopped there. Blume has also confirmed that Porsche is fully prepared to make the leap to electric vehicles anytime. This suggests that the manufacturer has everything "almost" ready for 50 percent of its battery-powered models to leave its factory so that, as they themselves have recognized, in 2023 they will all be completely electric.

If we take into account the commercial cycle in which the Porsche Macan finds itself, you don't have to be very smart to know that, in a couple of years this completely electric model could reach the market. This, along with the Mission E (which is confirmed for the year 2019), would allow the German house to have a range with which to fight face to face against the American Tesla Motors.

The accounts that Porsche has made for the manufacture and sale of the Porsche Macan and the Mission E are about 150 thousand units per year. If this figure is achieved, the brand would be revealed as the premium firm that manufactures and sells the largest number of fully electric vehicles. Although surely Tesla and Mercedes-Benz will not make it easy for them.
