El Renault scenic completely changes course. Renewed or die. And what if the minivan has been renewed? the french brand, which was first released in 1996. Now it becomes a Fully electric vehicle with long range and with versions up to 220 CV. It will hit the market in 2024.
It is true that the first two generations of the French minivan were widely accepted in most European markets. But the SUV models arrived and cannibalized their sales in the third and, especially, in the fourth installment. In any case, we still have a compact minivan which even dares with a more exciting finish, the Alpine esprit.
Total change in the exterior design, with 4,47 meters long
Aesthetically we see a totally new front, taking the bases of the design line already seen in other models of the brand, such as the new renault clio. There is no shortage of the company's new logo, the main horizontal projectors at the ends and daytime running lights upright, which remind us so much of the Peugeot “fangs”. Of course, the main grille is completely closed.
Meanwhile, on the side we see large partially faired wheels to improve aerodynamics, as well as flush door handles that will deploy to access the interior. In the units of the images we see a floating roof with the pillars in black, as well as the mirror housings.
If we say about the front that it has features similar to Peugeot, we cannot say that the rear It doesn't have some Volkswagen-like aspects, especially in the style of the taillights, which are LED. The shapes of the tailgate and the bumper are very marked, leaving a spoiler in the upper part of the rear window.
By the way, this new Renault Scenic measures 4,47 meters long, 1,86 wide and 1,57 high, leaning on a battle of 2,78 meters.

It has a digital instrument panel and a vertical multimedia screen, which after having tested it in the aforementioned launches, boasts high quality. Renault also highlights the panoramic glass roof “Solarbay”, which varies its opacity in four different levels, also differentiating the front part from the rear part. It can even be managed through the Google Assistant voice command system. In any case, when the vehicle is turned off it always goes into opaque mode.
Another hallmark of the Renault Scenic is the fact of having a large number of compartments in the passenger compartment. We are talking about no less than 38,7 liters of volume between all of them, highlighting a large glove box, the door pockets and a storage space of almost 3,5 liters under the central armrest, in addition to the console area that covers 6,6 liters. For his part, the trunk has a capacity of 545 liters.
Two batteries, two motors and up to 620 kilometers of autonomy in the Renault Scenic
But focusing now on the mechanical sections, the Renault Scenic will be available in two mechanical versions. One called standard autonomy and another called great autonomy.
La Standard version uses a 60 kWh battery, can charge at 130 kW of power, and uses a motor of 170 CV and 280 Nm of torque. Its acceleration from 0 to 100 is 9,3 seconds and its top speed is 150 km/h. The autonomy of this variant is 420 kilometers in WLTP cycle.
Meanwhile, the option of great autonomy it equips an 87 kWh battery, which accepts fast recharges of up to 150 kW. The engine grows to 220 CV and 300 Nm of maximum torque, homologating a top speed of 170 km/h and 0 to 100 in 8,4 seconds. In this case the autonomy will be greater than 620 kilometers approved according to the brand.
