The Renault-Nissan-Mitsubishi Alliance is one of the most advanced in electrification. In fact, they have been selling vehicles of this type in different market segments for several years. However, the way they have worked has always been the same, at least for the gallery. Develop battery vehicles that needed a plug to charge them. However, for some time they have also been betting on the hydrogen.
We have been able to see its advances above all in its range of industrial vehicles. But that will change from the root and for this they have officially presented one of the models that is called to revolutionize the market. Its about new Renault Scenic Vision Will you remember that a few days ago we told you about him? So we didn't know what it was going to be called, although the rumors seem to be correct. We tell you what its approach is and its design…
The image of the Renault Scénic Vision is an evolution of what the Megane E-TECH or Austral already look like...
As you can see from the pictures and video the design of the Renault Scénic Vision is an evolution of the Megane E-TECH and Austral. In fact, we are facing an SUV with daring and very marked lines that, saving the distances, want to emulate the most controversial era of the diamond house. Thus, the front stands out for including very fine optics embedded in a small grill that is completely closed.
The bumper is muscular and marked. In addition, in the corners it integrates a second light module that goes vertically. Already in the central area we have what looks like a trapezoidal air intake that is closed and in the lower area finished off by a splitter. If we take a look at the lateral line we see clean surfaces and marked lines that reduce visual weight to the bodywork. In addition, it sports some really fine A, B and C pillars.
Finally there is the rear that, saving the distances, seems to emulate the "ass" of the second generation Mégane. Here we have a rear window that is not very stretched out and a gate with angular lines. Below are the optics that, thanks to LED technology, have a boomerang-type format. As a detail, in the center of the gate we have the Renault logo illuminated in red and below a sporty and cleaner bumper.
From inside the Renault Scénic Vision presents a futuristic design. At 4,49 meters long and with a wheelbase 15 centimeters longer than the Megane E-TECH, it has plenty of space. In fact uses the Ariya's CMF-EV platform and, like this one, also recycled materials to wear. In any case, the design of the steering wheel, dashboard, instrument panel and other elements will hardly reach the series.
The Scénic Vision is an electric crossover with a hydrogen range extender…
Ultimately we must talk about powertrain that will power the Renault Scénic Vision. First of all, it borrows the 215 hp electric motor from the Megane E-TECH as well as the 40 kWh capacity battery. And it's all complemented by a 16 kW fuel cell that is mounted under the floor. Renault calls this technology H2-Tech and it is basically a "range extender" that, thanks to hydrogen, extends the autonomy of the battery.
In fact, by 2030 they hope that a distance of between 750 to 800 kilometers can be covered with a hydrogen charge. The advantage of the system is that it will only take about 5 minutes to fill the tank. For now, this prototype will be in the development phase until in 2024 it can go to the assembly line. Renault indicates that it is manufactured with a high number of recycled materials making it more eco-friendly.
