El DS 5 is developed on the PF2 platform of the PSA Group, the same one that gave life to the previous generation of the Citroën C4 and Grand C4 Picasso or Peugeot 3008. Externally it measures Meters long 4,53, 1,87 meters wide and 1,50 meters high.

Its trade name was hybrid4, because the electric motor drives the rear axle and the combustion engine moves the front axle, giving life to one of the few Citroëns with all-wheel drive that have existed.
