El DS 5 It is the third model of the PSA Group's premium family. It is also the first not to be a derivative of another Citroën model, as is the case with the C3 – DS 3 or C4 – DS 4. It began marketing in 2012 and was the first model of the brand to offer a hybrid mechanics that mixed electric propulsion with a diesel engine.

This is a model that stands out for its aesthetics, which does not go unnoticed and breaks with the schemes of the rest of the models on the market, making it difficult to find a direct rival. It also stands out for an interior quality that borders on a high level because it uses excellent settings and materials.

La most striking mechanics (and that is no longer marketed) is the hybrid, which combines the 2.0CV 163 HDi diesel engine, a piloted manual gearbox and an electric motor. Its trade name was hybrid4, because the electric motor drives the rear axle and the combustion engine moves the front axle, giving life to one of the few Citroëns with all-wheel drive that have existed.
