La first generation hit the market in the year 1991 and was designed by the Italian designer Giorgetto Giugiaro and owes its name to the La Mancha city of Toledo.

La second generation, also designed by Giugiaro, was built on the platform of the then Volkswagen Golf and it hit the market in the year in the year 1998, although in this case, it left behind the comfortable access door to the trunk, to give rise to the Seat Leon.

La third generation began its commercial journey in the year 2004 and left behind its sedan body to switch to a minivan. It was designed by Walter de Silva assuming a real failure in sales, by distancing itself in concept and price from the first two generations.

Finally, after the cessation of sales of the third generation in 2009, came the fourth iteration in 2012. In this case it was designed by Alejandro Mesonero-Romans recovering the spirit of the first two generations and therefore their sales and fame.

Seat Toledo and its rivals

El Seat Toledo It moves halfway between the compact segment and low-cost sedans. For this reason, we can consider as its rivals models such as the Citroen C-Elysee, Hyundai Elantra or his cradle brothers, the Skoda Rapid y Spaceback.

In front of them he offers a frugal mechanical range, an overhanging passenger compartment and trunk capacity and a body with a practical tailgate. On the contrary, and as it happens in most of its rivals, it cannot compete for internal quality, equipment or design possibilities.

The Seat Toledo of Km0 and second hand

El Seat Toledo, in its first and second generation, was one of the best-selling models of the Spanish firm in our country, so there is a large number of units in the second-hand market. The third generation was a sales failure, so if the aesthetic section is not a priority, we can find units at a good price.

In case of searching for a unit in the second-hand market, we can access a Toledo registered in 2004 (second generation) with diesel mechanics 1.9 TDI with 110 hp, Sport termination and 120 thousand kilometers per $3.800.

If we opt for a Toledo of kilometer zero, we can find units registered in 2017, with diesel mechanics 1.6 TDI with 115 hp, termination xcellence for which it would be necessary to pay 18.600 euros.
