Kia Forte MY22: The Yankee little brother of the European Ceed receives a restyling

Kia is one of the manufacturers with a younger model range. Today it has representatives in all or almost all market segments, especially among SUVs. Still, and despite the decline experienced by sedans, continues to rely on models like the High. In case you didn't know, it's the sedan-bodied little brother of our Ceed. Ah, in Korea it is also sold, although in this case the commercial name is different.

Does K3 ring a bell? We have spoken of it, like the Forte, on several occasions, although alternating their names. The fact is that the current generation has been on sale since 2018 and, now that it is approaching its vital equator, it suffers a interesting restyling. As you can see, it coincides in time with the one that has received our Ceed. Of course, the changes that this version hosts are their own although, as is clear, it becomes more aggressive and dynamic.

As usual, the Kia design team ha enhanced the front and rear of the Forte. It can be seen in the treatment of the optics, with LED technology and a more sporty style. The grill is another element that changes, with the latest evolution of the Tiger Nose format. Just above it, the new logo of the brand appears, which leaves behind the oval to use only the graphics. But it is not the only thing.

Now the range includes two dynamic cut finishes: GT and GT-Line. In the first case, the bumper is sportier, including three-point LED fog lights and a diagonal design. For his part, the GT-Line also uses this novelty, although the air intake of the bumper differs. Regarding the rear, the design varies depending on the finish but especially the optics. To do this, trust the LED technology from the front.

Inside the doors, the evolution of the Kia Forte is obvious. First, the dashboard screen becomes of 4,2 inches. For its part, the central screen is 8 inches as standard, although it can optionally be 10,25 inches. As to connectivity, integrates Android Auto wireless connection and Apple CarPlay, USB charger for second row passengers or electric parking brake.

Finally there is the mechanical range. Here there is little news because it is satisfied with the engines that the previous one had. The basic is carried out by a 2.0 liters tetracylindrical with 147 CV and 179 Nm of torque. The most performance version relies on the turbocharged block 1.6 T-GDI 204 hp and a torque of 265 Nm. In both cases, the force reaches the front train and they are managed by a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission.
