Can a Lamborghini Gallardo be as green as an electric vehicle?

It happens that every time we think of an electric car it comes to mind “zero CO2 emissions”, but that's not even close to true. It is possible that when the car rolls through the streets and highways it is not giving off carbon dioxide through an exhaust system of an internal combustion engine, but have you stopped to think about how the industries that assemble cars or How is the electricity with which you charge a Tesla generated when you get home or to the office?

Yes, there will be a tiny minority of people who have their own solar cell farm or a wind turbine at home with which they charge their car, but the vast majority of those who choose to buy an electric car will be supplied with electricity generated by fossil fuels. Isn't that -indirectly- generating CO2 by moving around in a car?

In a study done in Australia, it was determined that the small Mitsubishi i-MiEV electric car produces as much CO2 as a mid-size car in the Victoria region.

In those figures, the CO2 emission of a Lamborghini with a V10 engine is almost equal to that of a fully electric Tesla Roadster.

The generation of electricity for a Tesla recharge valid for 340 kilometers of travel releases 316 grams of CO2 into the atmosphere for every kilometer, while a Lamborghini Gallardo pollutes at a rate of 325 g/km of CO2 per kilometer consuming 13,7 liters every 100 kilometers

This makes us think that for a car to be truly ecological we must know where the electricity we consume comes from, and if the increase in the hybrid and electric fleet does not go hand in hand with a substitution of the generation of polluting electricity for “green” electricity ” we're not really doing anything for the planet.

At last!!!!! A medium that tells the truth about electric vehicles, by the way you forgot to comment on what can contaminate a 300 kg battery that they use! Congratulations for the mini-report!!!
