The arrival of electric powered models is unstoppable. There is practically no segment that is free from its expansion, although there are some that are monopolizing all the prominence. We refer to the all roads, since they are the ones that are in greatest demand today. Therefore, it is not uncommon for signatures like Renault are thinking of making the leap to it to create a family with which to overcome their main rivals.
Today, you already have a product of this type for sale, the Renault K-ZE. It was designed for the Chinese and Indian market, although we will soon see it circulating around Europe dressed as a Dacia. However, rumors suggest that very soon we will know a new Renault B-SUV EV That will have nothing to do with it. The only similarities between one and the other model will be the segment in which it is framed and its pure electric condition.
The Renault B-SUV EV will be based on the CMF-EV platform
According to various media, including L'argus, the French firm has this project very advanced and it would be known under the code BCB. Moreover, there would be indications that it was going to be presented at the ill-fated Paris Motor Show. However, the new Renault B-SUV EV would be much more advanced, as it would be developed on the CMF-EV platform, a variation of the one used by the current Mégane.
Another of the novel aspects of this new B-SUV would be in its modular concept for the powertrain. Thanks to the use of this base, its batteries would offer greater energy capacity and would be interchangeable with each other. It would be, like taking to the assembly line, in a mini version and without so much technical complexity, the Morphoz that we met in conceptual form a couple of months ago.
For now there is not much more information about this future Renault B-SUV EV. In addition, it is expected that by 2022 the diamond house will launch another Electric SUV located in the same segment as the Kadjar. According to various sources, it would be based on the same CMF-EV platform and the project would be known under the internal code HCC. To finish, the rumors do not forget the center in which they will be assembled.
