The BMW Group held its annual Group conference this morning to present its 2020 results. But logically, the most important of all for us are the news that will come soon. Some of them have already been confirmed and shown to the world, like the new BMW i4.
The Bavarian brand has shown the public for the first time the final production version of its new BMW i4. As you know, it is a four-door coupé-style saloon. It has a soft drop in the roof to give a certain sportiness and, it seems, it will have frameless doors at the top.
Beyond the exterior aesthetics, what is interesting about this model is that it is the first fully electric sedan BMW. We still don't have all the details, as the brand reserves them for a few weeks, but we do know some important data.
For example, BMW has announced that this new BMW i4 will be available in different versions, with a autonomy of up to 590 kilometers according to WLTP. Meanwhile, the maximum power will be 530 hp, which is not bad at all. In fact, it will be able to accelerate from standstill to 100 km/h in around 4 seconds.
And it is that the new BMW i4 will have an M Performance version, although it has not yet been revealed what it will be called commercially. What we do know is that the first versions will reach the European market during the present 2021 and, if our intuitions do not fail us, it will do so in the last quarter of the year.
"With its sporty looks, best-in-class driving dynamics and zero local emissions, the BMW i4 is a true BMW. Makes the heart of the BMW brand now fully electric beat”, said Pieter Nota, member of the Board of Management of BMW AG responsible for Customer, Brands, Sales.
