New BMW X1 2022

El 1 BMW X2022 is already here and in Actualidad Motor We have had the opportunity to meet personally all its details, During the static display which has taken place in Madrid.

La Third Generation of the BMW X1 arrives with a most imposing design, an arsenal of and engines for all tastes. In its repertoire there are diesel, gasoline, plug-in hybrid and 100% electric versions.

A BMW X1 bigger than it looks

All this in its compact size, although it is very close to the fuzzy limits of that category. Since BMW's misnamed "small SUV" grows 5 cm to reach 4,5 meters. Let us remember that the German brand does not have and has never had a small SUV. As can also be seen in the rest of its dimensions: 1,84 meters wide, 1,64 meters high and 2,69 meters of battle.

When removing the cover that covered the car during the presentation, the first thing that jumped out at the sight of those of us who were there was the bulky front end of the BMW X1. An impression that is not clearly seen in the images of the model that already abound on the Internet and that make it look even bigger.

The hood has very little slope leaving a large nose, which even has some negative drop leaving the highest part forward. The double grill is also very large, although not as large as in other models, under which there is another extra air intake. Both of them have the shutter system that opens and closes the airflow depending on the need for cooling. Except, of course, the grill of the electric version that is blinded with shiny black plastics.

La bodywork of the 1 BMW X2022 is clearly more angular than the previous generation. This is especially appreciated on the sides with the ribs that run through the doors at the top and bottom. In addition to the heel cups with a sharp design.

Already in the rear stands out above all the spoiler with the lower central part, whose steps also have an abrupt angle. The same happens with the gate, which has a curious right angle that delimits the rear lights.

Lastly, they also draw attention to the bottom trims, which are silver as standard, black in the M Sport version and blue in the electric one. Although in the latter you can optionally put silver.

Inside the 1 BMW X2022

Inside, we can see how the 10,25” instrumentation and 10,7” central touch screen they are part of the same set, with a slightly curved finish to face slightly towards the driver. A characteristic detail of BMW cars, which usually divert the center console so that it is more at hand than the one who governs the vehicle.

It also highlights a curious detail of the shift controls and other buttons such as the power on, the warning, etc. and they are integrated in the armrest floating center. A good solution that leaves them even closer to the driver and that allows space for storage compartments just below them.

The rear seats have a good space for occupants both in height and in legroom. Although the BMW X1 offers a option that allows the rear bench seat to be moved forward to gain a few liters in the trunk. There is still no data on how much you earn with this extra, but its capacity is 540 liters for the diesel and gasoline versions with front-wheel drive, 500 liters for the all-wheel drive and 490 liters for the electric version.
