2022 Chevrolet Equinox Prime

El Ford Mustang Mach-E commercial launch has caused quite a stir among the three American car manufacturers. General Motors, Ford Motor Company and Stellantis (considering their home firms) are in a tough fight to see who dominates the local market. And considering that electrification rules, for now those who rushed to develop this technology are winning. But this could change in a short time.

General Motors, although it already sells electric models, it still needs a representative in the juicy SUV segment. For this reason he gave the green light to the creation of the new Bolt EUV, although it clearly does not get where it wants. It's a patch while the bow tie firm develops what should be its first all-electric road. And it may not take us long to see it, because the Chevrolet Equinox patent leak He has not put on his track...

Chevrolet Equinox Electric - Full Hybrid patent 1

These images have been circulating on the network of networks for a few days, but we have had to find the source to give them credibility. Apparently they have been registered by SAIC Motor in a Chinese patent office. This is one of General Motors' partners in this great market and, as usual, helps shape some of the models that are going to be sold in this region. But beware, the registration process started in February of this year.

Apparently since then, until last July, they have been under study for approval. Hence we have not been aware of this file. However, we cannot advance much more either, although it is the rumors that have been put to work to make sense of the leak of this patent. Apparently, and for the moment nobody contradicts it, we would be facing the electric version of the new Chevrolet Equinox.

This would be so according to part of the rumours, because there are others who say that it would be the hybrid version (HEV) or plug-in hybrid (PHEV). There is no doubt that this design is the work of General Motors and, to be more exact, of Chevrolet, the firm that welcomes the Equinox in its range. Therefore, it only remains wait to see these rumors confirmed or not. And you, what do you think of its design? Do you like what you see?
