F1 Chinese GP 2017: Race Results

Hamilton Chinese GP 2017

The race started Chinese F1 GP 2017 with a fairly cold track, excessively cold. The temperature was so low (15ºC on the track) that many cars had serious grip problems, with several spins. All came out with intermediate tires for the humidity that was on the track, without too many surprises on the first lap, with Hamilton staying in front and leaving Vettel without respite. The Briton has achieved victory, while the German has been second, inverting the positions of the Australian GP in a race that has been much more eventful than the first.

Only one image comes to mind, and it is Hamilton's passivity on the track in the Australian GP, not overtaking on the track when he should have and losing the first position he had in hand to give it to Vettel. Then the cameras showed an image of Totto Wolf hitting the table quite pissed off... I hope it wasn't a premeditated Hollywood scene by both teams to give the World Cup a little more "excitement". In the end, it will only be mine. Well, and continuing with the race, on lap 2 the VSC had to leave due to a puncture from Pérez and on lap 3 Palmer spun. On lap 8 it was Bottas's turn, with another spin, by then Alonso was already in 6th position

Alonso Chinese GP 2017

From there, Alonso has seen how several cars were overtaking them due to their power deficit. But he is undoubtedly surprising enormously in the first two races, with an impeccable level of driving and if it were not for mechanical problems that have forced him to retire on lap 36, perhaps Fernando would have gotten some points today despite being an even worse track for the characteristics of the McLaren-Honda MCL32. Regarding the chassis and aerodynamics, McLaren is doing a very good job in Woking, in fact from the next race they are going to bring a 3D printer to each circuit to manufacture aerodynamic parts quickly and on-site in order to optimize the car to the maximum for each track...

As for the engine, Honda seems to have got their act together already and I hope they have a decent new spec for Spain or Monaco soon, ie in May. In fact, Fernando Alonso has once again given Honda another call to attention, removing all blame from the work of the British and letting it fall alone in Sakura with another radio message: «I am the fastest in curve«. In addition, before the press, Alonso was happy for having been able to hold off Bottas with the Mercedes for a few laps behind, even though the Mercedes engine won on the straights. He commented that if they had kept up without problems, they could have gotten the point in the most surreal and heroic way, finishing in front of a Mercedes...

In the next appointment, we will see for the first time that 3D printer (Stratasys uPrint SE Plus) from McLaren in each GP in the box itself, and we will see how they manufacture these parts to generate more load or get rid of some drag more quickly, without having the logistics problems that would imply having to carry new parts from Woking to each race, but that they will manufacture them on the weekend itself to put them on. In fact, in Woking they also work with this type of technology and some of the chassis parts are created by three-dimensional printing. That said, we are waiting for you in the next GP, the one in Bahrain who returns with only a week of respite...

Very good report. The condition of the track gave it the touch of emission and it was very good to see the ability of the pilots to overcome the difficulty.
