El Detroit Auto Show is the first of the year, celebrated in the month of January, and although its importance for the European market is not great, many brands take advantage of this event to publicize their products for America or their global products. It seems that this is how Toyota will do with its most anticipated model.
By sharing a platform with the BMW Z4, the Toyota Supra will get the same wheelbase, which is 2.470 mm. It is shorter than that of the current Toyota GT86, so it seems clear that its main focus is on the twisty roads and no very high speed corners.
In any case, power will not be lacking, because the logical thing is that in its version with the 3.0 in-line six-cylinder engine it is planted by easily above 300 hp, something more than 350 maybe. This Toyota Supra is also expected to be available in less powerful access versions with a four-cylinder engine, probably around 250 hp.
For the rest, we know that the new generation of this Japanese sports car will weigh about 1.500 kilos and that its weight will be perfectly distributed between the two axes. It has also been confirmed that, initially, it will only be marketed with automatic gearbox, something that will not make the most purists particularly excited. In any case, we cannot rule out the arrival of a variant with three pedals.
