The long-awaited DS7 Crossback is getting closer to being real

The DS7 Crossback is just around the corner and that is why all the media in the motor world have begun to reveal your first data. This model, which will be the most impressive and the best ever produced till the date by the gala brand, represents a before and after in the firm and as such must make a very good impression when it is officially presented to the public.

We know that there is less left see this long-awaited SUV, that as several media have advanced It will be called DS7 Crossback.. A model with which the premium firm of the PSA Group (Peugeot, Citroën and DS) intends to give a twist to "get noticed" among the tough premium competition. The new model of the Citroën luxury brand wants be a benchmark in its segment and for this DS will review every last detail. With this, they seek to guarantee their hegemony, intending to leave their most direct rivals, the new Peugeot 3008 and 5008, in a later step.

To ensure its "essence", the vehicle will begin to be built in the month of November at the factory in Mulhouse, France. In addition, as is logical this new SUV, will use the brand new modular platform EMP2 (Efficient Modular Platform 2) that already incorporate the new PSA models such as the renewed Peugeot 5008.

Inside, it will be one of the most spacious vehicles within compact SUVs, since its dimensions will exceed 4,50m in length. Thanks to them you can compete with models such as the Audi Q3, BMW X1 or Mercedes GLA so that in its cabin four occupants of up to 1,85m in height can travel comfortably.

Its range of engines will be composed three types of propulsion systems. On the one hand, the petrol variants will incorporate the well-known 1.2 Pure Tech of 130cv and the well-known 1.6 THP of 165 and 210cv. in diesel, will assemble the 2.0 BlueHDI of 150cv and 180cv, highlighting the incorporation of a modern 1.5 BlueHDI 130hp. In addition (and surely later) there will be a plug-in hybrid version, with a Hybrid4 traction system that will incorporate a motor 1.6 THP coupled with a 160Kw electric motor that together, they will achieve a power close to 300cv.

Other novelties will be the incorporation of an 8-speed automatic gearbox called EAT8. Next to it will be the intelligent traction control system Grip Control Advanced and AMVAR piloted suspension (different from Citroën's Advanced Comfort). Its operation will be guided by a set of sensors and cameras that will be responsible for analyzing the surface at all times and will transmit this information to adjust the degree of hardness of the suspensions (reminds the Magic Body Control mounted on the Mercedes S-Class).

In addition to all this, we know that it will be Officially presented at the 2017 Geneva Motor Show. After that, the next step of the firm will be to take several pre-series units to Frankfurt and by 2018 it will be when we see it on the Spanish streets.
