One of the builders who has been working with this firm for some time is FCA Group. The latest launches of the Italian-American consortium are equipped with the current generation of automatic transmission ZF 8HP. Thanks to her, the dynamics of her models has improved substantially and for this reason, they have decided to expand their commercial association. In this way, they have signed a new supply agreement for the next ZF novelty.

ZF is working on a new automatic transmission for vehicles equipped with plug-in hybrid systems. According to the firm, it would have a place in almost all market segments. This is due to its longitudinal front configuration for vehicles of all-wheel drive o propulsion. All this, thinking about the reduction of CO2 emissions, since it has a better integration in the electrical unit of the hybrid systems.

Thanks to this configuration, the FCA Group has decided to bet again on ZF. This is because the next launches of the Italian-American manufacturer will bet on hybrid technology. For now, it is unknown which models of the Italian group could make use of it. However, rumors suggest that it will be released in the next SUV's which Alfa Romeo y Jeep are about to launch on the market.

If we take these data into account, their launches would be in the orbit of 2022. This is the date on which the production of the new transmission will start ZF 8HP in the factory that the firm has in Saarbruecken. All in all, the FCA Group has signed the second largest supply agreement with ZF after BMW AG. Its economic value has not been officially announced, but rumors indicate that it is between 17 and 20 billion dollars.
