The FCA Group is convinced that Maserati will resurface with the MC20. Launching a model with a marked sports character on the market should put it in the center of public attention. Nevertheless, what the trident firm needs is to increase its sales volume, and the question is whether this ruse will work. Still, if they promote it well and their sales forecasts are tight, it could help their battered accounts.
Lest we forget that the Maserati MC20 is about to candy, they have created a special version. Normally it is done when a product is already on the market, but in this case it has a very specific purpose: pay tribute to Sir Stirling Moss. The legendary English driver, who died on April 12 at the age of 90, is part of the history of the Italian brand and they do not want us to forget him.
The Maserati MC20 will be a before and after in the brand
For this they have created a version of the MC20 inspired by the design of another legendary model. We are talking about the Maserati Eldorado, the car driven in its debut at Monza in 1958 by Stirling Moss himself, in the “Trofeo dei due Mondi”. Paying tribute to Sir Stirling Moss with this model has not been casual. As the brand explains, its objective is to underline his sporting vocation and, above all, to return to the racing circuits.
The last time he won a title was at the 2010 world championship with the extraordinary MC12. However, the design of this prototype is masked by the camouflage layer. Still, the brand's creative team has uncovered a detail so that we appreciate your work. As you can see in the images, we refer to the large red logo that they have placed on the black roof.
Maserati has published a official press release in which he states that...
«We hope that Sir Striling Moss liked the new MC20: a car that fully embodies Maserati's truest values in terms of performance, driving pleasure and innovative content expressed in a superlative way in all models of the Tridente brand»
We will have to wait for its world debut to know more details. The last time we heard from MC20 was to announce that the presentation was postponed to September. All in all, we are convinced that this model will not be a best seller, but will change the image of the brand forever.
