Fiat is already working on a new model for Mercosur based on CMP…

Fiat Argo HGT 2021 1

stellantis is determined to increase its presence in certain regions of the world. Mercosur is one of its objectives and we have proof of this in the launch plan that has been set for Citroën, Fiat and Peugeot. Jeep is missing from this equation, but the Yankee house "goes on its own" and its products have nothing to do with those that can be found in the catalog of its "sisters". However, the Italian house is the one that will have the most prominence.

As you know Fiat is one of the largest manufacturers in Mercosur. She has been competing with finery for years and if it had not been for the birth of Stellantis, perhaps they would not have reached her. However, the evolution of electrification forces them to take a step forward to update their portfolio and that is where the new model that I would already be working on. I would take for name F1H and all the rumors already point to what it could be...

The project code that Fiat is developing is F1H and all the rumors suggest that it would be the replacement for the Argo or the Cronos...

Fiat Cronos MY2021 HGT 1.8 AT6 0

Thanks to the guys from Automotive Business we have learned that Stellantis has given the green light for the new Fiat project. So far nothing out of the ordinary but there are a couple of details to keep in mind. First, the platform that will serve as the basis for this new Fiat is the CMP that already use the local Citroën C3 and Peugeot 208. Second, its measurements will position it between the urban and compact segments, as the Italian house has already announced.

Third, its production will take place at the Betim factory in Brazil. And up to here we can read because the rumors suggest that it will be a compact but at the same time they place it with the C3 and 208. Therefore, it could be an urban and that is where another rumor takes force. This new Fiat model would be none other than the replacement of the already veteran Argo and Cronos since one and the other were launched on the market more than five years ago.

The first arrived in 2017 and the second in 2018, so they are running out of their life cycle quickly. Still the problem is that It has not yet been publicly announced if it is the relay of the Argo or the Cronos. In any case, the calendar seems to be very clear since this new Fiat project would not see the light of day until next year 2025. Therefore, anything could still happen, such as the Mobi disappearing from the range... Or not?
