Honda will also have an important completely renewed product in the Geneva Motor Show 2018, which as you know opens its doors next Tuesday, March 6; the Honda CR-V. The suv vehicles they continue to be protagonists of the best-seller lists throughout Europe and, therefore, manufacturers do not stop launching new models all the way and renew existing ones to try to appropriate as many sales as possible.

Thus, this new generation of the Honda CR-V takes a platform different from its predecessor; something that has allowed it to modify its exterior dimensions and gain interior space to even offer itself, for the first time, with a passenger compartment capable of hosting up to 7 occupants. There are also changes in its powertrains and, as you are already seeing, notable changes in its exterior and interior design.

Aesthetically its changes are easy to perceive. now show a more mature and elegant image, but making it clear that it is an SUV with the typical features of these vehicles, that is, the protections on the bottom of all four sides. How could it be otherwise, the front inherits the design traits of the latest additions of the Japanese brand. Personally, I admit that I like the design of its front bumper, with those thin LED fog lights.

El interior has also improved notably compared to its predecessor that is still marketed today. In addition, it is not so similar to that of, for example, the Honda Civic, which is the last car of the brand that we have tested. Its layout of controls and holes seems much more logical and the design more fluid. Of course, it is likely that some users are not too convinced by the position of the gear lever. The main screen on the dashboard is touch screen and is 7 inches, while the instrument panel is also fully digital with, also, 7 inches in size.

But the most remarkable section of the new Honda CR-V is the arrival of, for the first time in this model, a hybrid version. named by Honda as Intelligent Multi Mode Drive (i-MMD), the system is made up of a 2.0 liter i-VTEC engine that works on the Atkinson cycle and two electric thrusters. The transmission system is not a normal gearbox, but has a single fixed ratio.

On the other hand, the Japanese brand has preferred leave out diesel engines, at least for now, being available with a 1.5 liter Turbo petrol mechanic. According to Honda, it provides high performance and efficiency, but does not report its benefits, limiting itself to communicating that it will be available with both manual and automatic transmission.

Mechanics hybrid will arrive in early 2019, being the 1.5 gasoline the one in charge of propelling the Honda CR-V on its arrival on the European market, which will take place in autumn 2018. Both the hybrid version and this gasoline They will be standard front-wheel drive., being able to opt for the integral traction of optional form.
