How can I raise the car myself?

Either if we have punctured a wheel and we need to change it, or if we are going to carry out an operation on the lower part of our car, such as a changing pills, we will need raise the car to put the wheels in the air.

Before starting, a series of security measures must be very clear, so as not to have any type of problem while we work. With these security measures we can work calmly and without fear of having an accident.

First of all, the car must be on a flat surface. Also, if we work on the front wheels we can apply the handbrake. If we do it on the rear we can block the car with a gear. Thus we'll make sure the car doesn't move.

Before placing the jack we must know that the car has certain points for its placement. They are usually 4 points found on the side steps, reviewing the manual of the car itself we can know the exact point in our car.

We put the jack in position and begin to raise the car to the desired height. At this point it is very important, for me essential, place some borriquetas and remove the jack. In this way, in case the jack fails, we will not suffer an accident. If we do not have some borriquetas at hand, we can use some wooden blocks or some bricks. If we don't have any type of support at hand, we can put the spare wheel under the car, near the jack.

At this point, I usually check the stability of the supports, so I give the car a reasonable push to confirm the correct placement of the used brackets.

At this point it can already be said that the car is perfectly prepared for start working on it.
