Six days ago my colleague Marcos López showed us the first teaser of the new Infiniti QX80. The large SUV from Nissan's luxury brand is hardly known in the European market, but in the United States, the Middle East and China it is much better known. Its sales are not the highest in the premium SUV segment, but it is a vehicle highly regarded by those who love luxury and outstanding off-road qualities.
However, a few days after his official presentation at the New York Auto Show, the Japanese brand has decided to make public the first complete image of the QX80 Monograph Concept. This model continues to maintain the square shapes that allow it to offer a spacious cabin with space for up to 7 passengers. However, despite maintaining his basic physiognomy, he will adopt the aesthetic language of the brand's latest creations.
The element that stands out the most in the QX80 Monograph Concept is its large front grille. The Infiniti logo is located in the upper middle part of it and gains in size compared to the previous generation. The grille is flanked by headlights with a rough design in which the LED projectors that shape it stand out. Also, the lower part of the bumper gains a greater off-road presence, since it seems to have a lower metallic protection (simulated).
The lateral area of the Infiniti QX80 Monograph Concept lacks expression lines that highlight its off-road design. The only thing that enhances the design of this area are the huge alloy wheels and the air vents that are hidden behind the wheel arches. Of the rear area we still do not have photographs, but surely before April 11 we will have more images.
Those responsible for the brand have not made any statements about what powertrain will carry the next generation of the Infiniti QX80. Most likely, it will mount gasoline blocks with powers close to 400 hp and even a hybrid propulsion system with which to reduce consumption and emissions. According to Roland Kruger "The Infiniti QX80 showcases Infiniti's concept of luxury and style, and is an exploration of how they can enhance Infiniti's future in the luxury SUV segment".
