One of the many novelties of the Tokyo Lounge in prototype form is the Lexus LS+ Concept. It takes the basis of the current LS model of the premium firm, but the reason for this concept is none other than to show us a new design exercise. Maybe it could be something futuristic, but we can't argue with the aggressiveness and elegance in equal parts that this Lexus LS+ Concept transmits on all four sides. It is certainly quite daring.
Everything seems to indicate that this prototype aims to convey what the design language of the Japanese brand a few years from now. Our eyes inevitably go to that large grill which, although it maintains the shapes of the current brand image, grows a lot in surface, something that is increased thanks to the fine blue lines that increase the sense of three-dimensionality. Lexus calls this entire style of design "L-finesse".
La rear of the bodywork also seeks, above all, that sensation of volume with multiple and thin lines that appear both in the pilot lights and in the lower corners of the bumpers, drawing shapes identical to those of the grille in its rear. In the side, the wheels of gigantic dimensions with a very closed design, the absence of mirrors as such - they are replaced by cameras - and the flush door handles with the bodywork conveys a greater sense of fluidity.
But the Lexus LS+ Concept doesn't just boast striking bodywork and aesthetics. This model also uses a autonomous driving system with artificial intelligence which aims to reach the production models in the years 2020 and is currently in the testing phase. According to Lexus itself, this system would be capable of take control and drive safely on motorways, making lane changes by itself, overtaking and maintaining the correct safety distance with the car in front of us. This technology is called "Teammate Highway" by the Japanese brand.
