Mazda MX-5 RF Ignition, with more sportsmanship and equipment

El Barcelona Motor Show is not one of the most important events for the automotive sector. However, many manufacturers take advantage of this event to launch new models on our market, show prototypes or present special editions. Seat, a few hours ago, informed us of the Seat 600 BMS. Mazda has confirmed the new Mazda MX-5 RF Ignition.

The Mazda MX-5 RF Ignition is a new special version based on the MX-5RF, retractable hardtop bodywork. Its main characteristic is the extra sportsmanship for this bodywork as well as the provision of a more equipment. The main tone of the bodywork is Soul Red, although this time it is combined with the piano black that appears on the roof. The wheels, as we see, are not common either, using 17-inch BBS.

Inside of this Mazda MX-5 RF Ignition also has some specific feature like the Recaro seats, the upholstery of the dashboard and the doors in Alcantara or a sound system made up of nine speakers signed by Bose. The MZD Connect connectivity and infotainment system with HMI Commander, browser or hands-free access is also missing. To all this we must add the standard equipment of the MX-5 RF.

This Ignition edition is associated exclusively with the engine 2.0 of 160 hp, that is, to the most powerful mechanics of the Japanese roadster. Meanwhile, the gearbox is a six-speed manual and the Sport suspension bears the Bilstein hallmark.

It is already available this May at all official dealers, although if you want to be one of the first people to see it, you should stop by the Barcelona Motor Show, which opens its doors next week.
