El Mitsubishi Space Star is one of the great forgotten of the automobile sector in Spain. The Japanese firm sells this small urban in replacement for the much-maligned Colt since some years. The problem is that marketing actions have not been aimed at promoting it, leading it to oblivion. Now that they have applied a deep restyling they want it to return to haunt the minds of consumers.
Unlike the previous one, the new Space Star looks cooler and more aggressive. We already told you a few months ago how his exterior aesthetics evolved, which mixes some features already seen in his older brothers. Where there are fewer changes is inside, although now includes more technology and a new infotainment system. The quality has also been reviewed, betting on more careful and better assembled materials.
The small Space Star improves remarkably in technology
with these credentials the Mitsubishi Space Star lands in the Spanish market. It does so while maintaining another of the hallmarks that have defined its personality: a moderate price for everything it offers. For it, part of two finishes already known in the brand of the three diamonds. The access version is called Motion and the most complete Kaiteki. In both cases, the endowment is generous, better than in the previous one.
The Motion finish opens the range. Among the most outstanding elements are air conditioning, emergency braking signaling system (ESS), seven airbags, cruise control, automatic lighting of lights or darkened rear windows. There is no lack of daytime running lights with LED technology, power windows on all four doors or tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS).
The Kaiteki version crowns the offer. In it, the endowment is more generous, including elements such as the Multifunction GPS Navigation infotainment system, automatic climate control, 15 inch alloy wheels or exterior mirrors with integrated LED indicators. The KOS system for opening and keyless engine start or front fog lights with integrated daytime running lights.
On a mechanical level there are no changes, because the Space Star is only available with a gasoline engine. Specifically, under the hood it has the 1.2 MPI block with 80 hp attached to the 5-speed manual transmission. Unlike its rivals, there is no possibility to choose an automatic gearbox or diesel version. As a positive point is the low consumption and level of emissions it emits.

Considering what the Mitsubishi Space Star offers, their rates are very adjusted for our country. The data offered by the firm must be deducted from the possible campaigns or discounts that the commercial network may apply. In any case, it is a real pity that it is not more publicized so that the public is interested in it.
