Philips X-Treme Vision bulbs, we check the change. If you like it, participate and take some as a gift

Almost a month ago a couple of Philips X-Treme Vision lamps for us to try. I looked skeptically at the box...test light bulbs?… okay! This is how we have done it. After approximately 2.500 km of night driving I have already drawn my conclusions. Participate in our contest and see for yourself.

Let's see if you can guess which is the standard lamp and which is the Philips X-Treme Vision

I admit that I had never believed in the advertising of the different manufacturers of lamps for automobiles. Rare is the product that does not announce a great % more light than the traditional light bulbs… for me it all boiled down to the same thing: if the h4 lamp has 55w of power, that's what they illuminate, period. Well, it seems that this is not always the case... the amount of gas inside the bulb, the type of filament, the glass that covers it, the light filters that the glass of the bulb has, etc. also influences. a whole world of engineering that I didn't know

In the photos you can see the difference between the "before" and the "after"

To check this, I installed first one lamp and then the other. In the main photo you can see the result: one of the two spotlights emits a much clearer and more powerful light. In driving It is especially noticeable in the side lighting (in the photo it can be seen on the ground as well).

Result: With short range lighting the result is very good. Above you can see the photos with the standard lamps and with the Philips X-Treme Vision. The Road marks they are seen more clearly and the sides are much better illuminated. With the long range lighting (the long) the improvement is somewhat minor, but it is greatly appreciated, especially in a car like this (Fiat Grande Punto) who has never had a particularly good lighting.

Concluding: I can't say that the Philips X-Treme Vision be better than others high output lamps of the market, but what I can say emphatically is that I will never buy a bulb "ordinary". The X-Treme Vision They cost between €30 and €40 approximately, that is, twice as much as a normal light bulb and more or less the same as other high-end lamps.

For just €20 difference I have improved the poor standard lighting that the car had, gaining in safety and comfort (I have to make less effort to see in the dark). I will definitely not return to the traditional light bulb.

The outlay that has to be made on these bulbs destroys all the virtues they have, without commenting on the few hours of operation.

For less than €18 you have the Osram NIGHT BREAKER that perform the same function...

PS.: You will comment on how long those bulbs last… 12 months is my prediction.

    regards

Yes, I have heard of the Osram, but I seem to remember that they cost €30 when I looked at it.
Have you already had any of these lamps (Philips-Osram)?

I'll let you know if they last or not...
    Regards!

I have a philips x extreme power h7 in my vehicle with 80 more light and I would be interested if you can improve the lighting with this new bulb or you will hardly notice the difference since with the ones I have it does not look bad at all

Hello Jose Luis, if you already have some X-Treme Power (the previous model), I doubt very much that the improvement justifies the outlay. Something will be noticed... but I don't think it's worth the expense. If you decide to change them, I would appreciate it if you could tell us how it is.

    regards

Hi guys, what I can say from my personal experience is that the Philips have always given me good results. I tried the Osram Night Breakers and they melted shitting milk (hence why many websites call them "They break in the night"). And they cost me much more than 18 euros, I can guarantee that too.
Come on, if you are not lucky enough that your car is equipped with Xenon, the Xtreme Vision are a good solution. Of course, you do not have to mind too much scratching your pocket a little more often. Of course, they last less than a few currents. But they illuminate twice as much, so you are much safer and calmer.

Now if I have doubts more than ever precisely I have some xtreme vision h7 ordered, please someone who has them on tell me how they are doing.

Hello. I had the Philips xtreme vision +30% according to what it said in the box. Its price was 32,95. After trying them for 4 months, my conclusion is that it actually illuminates a little more than the standard ones, but for the price they have, don't think they are nothing to write home about. My car is a double optic c4 with h7 bulbs for short and h1 for long and osram led bulbs for turn signals. I've been wearing the osram cool Blue intense two months ago, its price is 22 euros in alcampo and frankly much better , a much whiter and more intense light, which is very noticeable in the road markings. I have tried several and at the moment the osram is the one I like the most, much cheaper and much better light. I hope my comment will help you. Greetings

Osram Night-brakers don't last at all. They are a total fiasco. Less than a month in my Toledo taxi. I fully agree with the comment that the Osram Cool Blue Intense give a magnificent and better light than the Philips X-treme (I have them in the family car) and they last (I've been doing night shifts with them for a year and a half).

I installed them last night and I found the ones that advertised 100% more light to be excellent. That is not true, but I have a notable improvement and I am very happy with them bought in auto zone for about 600 pesos, h4 but the number with which I got them is 9003 XVB2 and they fit very well. Remember not to touch the crystals of the bulb when installing them.
