Piëch GT: The first electric supercar from the heirs of Porsche

Piech GT

Athough it does not seems, the automobile sector treasures great lineages of engineers, designers and entrepreneurs. Do you know the Piëch? Maybe not, but if I tell you that this surname is intrinsically related to the Porsche family, maybe things change. This saga of Bavarian engineers were the first to set up the firm from Zuffenhausen (Stuttgart – Germany). Then the story changed, but they have not separated from the sector.

If you do a little memory, a couple of years ago a model jumped into the news arena. It was about the Piech Mark Zero Electric GT, the first model developed by the heirs of Porsche. Well, after two years of hard work and technical tests, the production model debuts. Its about Piech GT, a high-flying electric supercar that arrives ready to put all its rivals on the ropes. We tell you the little that is known.

The Piëch GT announces an acceleration from 0 to 100 kilometers per hour in less than 3 seconds...

As you can see, the Piëch GT polishes the lines of its design, although the differences with the conceptual model are minimal. Basically it presents a slightly smaller and slightly redesigned grille or Full LED optics that forget about the notches of the concept. The side view is the one that shows the fewest changes, but it highlights that aston martin air that give off the beltline, the descending roof or the generous alloy wheels.

From inside doors there are no photos other than one that lets you see the driver's door and interior trim. From what it reveals, it seems that the materials, although luxurious, seem recycled. Especially because of the textile material that extends over a large part of the panel. But also, there seems to be a small glove box and that to open it you have to pull on an elegant leather strap. To know the rest of the elements, we will have to wait, although not long.

Finally we will tell you what is known about his technique. It is not much and, sadly, the firm's website refers us to the data they announced a couple of years ago. We know that the battery pack is located in the center of the base and that it will allow a range of 500 kilometers according to the WLTP approval cycle. The load should be very fast, because the firm announces that to recover a part (it is not known which one) it needs less than 5 minutes.

Regarding Powertrain, would be made up of three electric motors. In the previous train there is one of 150 kW (204 CV) and on the later one there would be two synchronous motors of identical power 150 kW. Thanks to this set I would offer a acceleration from 0 to 100 kilometers per hour less than 3 seconds. What is not known is when it will hit the market, although if we take a look at the web some aspects can already be configured.

It will be a matter of time...
