Suzuki called us a few days ago to give us the opportunity to try the new Suzuki Vitara and S-Cross, which as you know have recently incorporated mechanical innovations. In the case of Vitara, debuts the Strong Hybrid version, a conventional hybrid variant that can circulate in electric mode. Meanwhile, the S cross 1.4 Boosterjet is a Mild Hybrid at 48 volts.
Be that as it may, at this event Suzuki Ibérica informed us of his donation of no less than 50.000 euros to the Spanish Committee of Acnur (the UN refugee agency), which will go to support the work of protection and humanitarian assistance in Ukraine and neighboring countries. The terrain was delicate, as it had been raining constantly for many hours and there were doubts as to whether we could complete the planned route.
Not without complications, especially for wearing summer tires, but we were direct witnesses of the good work of the Suzuki Vitara 1.5 Strong Hybrid on very slippery floors, with a lot of mud. Thanks to the all-wheel drive and the management of the specific electronic aids for use in difficult conditions, we were able to avoid obstacles and very delicate situations.
We remember that this hybrid mechanics with eco label It consists of a 1.5 hp 102 Dualjet thermal engine, combined with a 33,4 hp electric motor. That electric drive can drive the car on its own if the power demand is not high and if there is enough electrical charge in the battery, which is recharged during deceleration and braking.
Although if we talk about real capacities outside the asphalt in the Japanese firm, the proper name is Suzuki Jimny. The organization prepared a series of ditches, slopes, very aggressive bridge crossings, descents and side steps for us to test the good skills of the little off-roader.
