Suzuki Ibérica donates 50.000 euros to those affected in Ukraine

Suzuki Ibérica donation Ukraine

Suzuki called us a few days ago to give us the opportunity to try the new Suzuki Vitara and S-Cross, which as you know have recently incorporated mechanical innovations. In the case of Vitara, debuts the Strong Hybrid version, a conventional hybrid variant that can circulate in electric mode. Meanwhile, the S cross 1.4 Boosterjet is a Mild Hybrid at 48 volts.

Be that as it may, at this event Suzuki Ibérica informed us of his donation of no less than 50.000 euros to the Spanish Committee of Acnur (the UN refugee agency), which will go to support the work of protection and humanitarian assistance in Ukraine and neighboring countries. But they have not only stayed there.

During this presentation to the press of its novelties in hybridization, the brand proposed a challenge to us. They wanted let's reduce consumption of the new models. Logically, we accept and thanks to the efficiency of all of us who were present, other MÃ ¡s 6.000 euros, which will be handed over to the Emergency Committee to allocate to Ukraine.

Consumption of 3,8 l/100 km to donate 6.000 euros more

Suzuki Vitara Hybrid

The route for the consumer test was almost 100 kilometers along national roads, mainly, traveling from the Jerez de la Frontera airport to the Sunshine Tour facilities in Vejer de la Frontera. We had to make an effort to reduce consumption as much as possible and do everything in our hands (and feet) to help.

This presentation to the press was developed in three days, with three shifts of different journalists, and the efficiency tests would be done with both the new Vitara and the new S-Cross. In our case we got behind the wheel of the Suzuki Vitara Strong Hybrid, obtaining a consumption of 3,8 liters and being one of the most economical of the test. Be careful, its approved combined consumption is 5,8 liters in the AWD versions.

Getting muddy with the Suzuki Vitara and Jimny Pro

Leaving aside the donation, we were able to test in difficult conditions and in private venues the off-road capabilities both the Suzuki Vitara and the Suzuki Jimny Pro. The terrain was delicate, as it had been raining constantly for many hours and there were doubts as to whether we could complete the planned route.

Not without complications, especially for wearing summer tires, but we were direct witnesses of the good work of the Suzuki Vitara 1.5 Strong Hybrid on very slippery floors, with a lot of mud. Thanks to the all-wheel drive and the management of the specific electronic aids for use in difficult conditions, we were able to avoid obstacles and very delicate situations.

We remember that this hybrid mechanics with eco label It consists of a 1.5 hp 102 Dualjet thermal engine, combined with a 33,4 hp electric motor. That electric drive can drive the car on its own if the power demand is not high and if there is enough electrical charge in the battery, which is recharged during deceleration and braking.

Suzuki Jimny

Although if we talk about real capacities outside the asphalt in the Japanese firm, the proper name is Suzuki Jimny. The organization prepared a series of ditches, slopes, very aggressive bridge crossings, descents and side steps for us to test the good skills of the little off-roader. A) Yes, we got on the Jimny Pro and we saw that it is one of the best 4×4 on the market, and also there is no need to go to stratospheric outlays, since it starts at 21.000 euros according to the configurator.
