Tesla's Sentinel Mode is about to take things to a whole new level. Its mobile application will allow owners remotely see what your cars have nearby. In other words, a kind of surveillance camera capable of seeing 360º around the vehicle.
For some time, those responsible for Tesla have been talking about improve their Sentry Mode (Sentinel mode in Spanish). Which is nothing more than an integrated surveillance system, which activates its cameras when it detects an attempted theft or damage to the car. They even added a 'Easter egg' who was trying to deter thieves with the music from 'Rick and Morty'.

However, what they are going to implement soon is not a simple alarm or a automatic dashcam. If someone walks up to your car and touches something they shouldn't, you'll know it is the owner who will be seeing you directly on his smartphone. What's more, the owner of the Tesla will be able to activate the cameras whenever he wants from his phone.
The news has leaked thanks to a hacker which has revealed the updates Tesla is working on. As it states: “Remote viewing of cameras seems to be underway, they may add this feature in 2020.48, although they may postpone it again.”
Everything will be handled through the app
Today, Tesla owners can already have a detailed view of the status of their vehicles. included if the doors, windows and port of charge are open or closed. However, in the near future you will be able to see around your vehicles even if Sentry Mode has not been activated due to suspicious activity.
Initially, this function does not make the car safer, but may be useful for some owners. On several occasions, the videos of the sentinel mode have ended up posted on the network and the vandals have ended up surrendering due to pressure from Internet users.
