A Tesla Model S Shooting Brake? This is the Niels van Roij project

Tesla Model S Shooting Brake

Family variants always provide a point of versatility to the sedan that is taken as a base. A Dutch company located in Amsterdam plans to redesign and produce 20 Tesla Model S converted into shooting brake -you know, the perfect mix between family and coupé-. His name is RemetzCar and the design would be carried out by Niels van Roij.

This Tesla Model S Shooting Brake could be delivered to 20 exclusive customers from March 2018. RemetzCar are specialists in converting various car models into family cars or shooting brakes, as is the case, and they have recently launched their Tesla Model S E-Hearse, with a family configuration, although less stylish. According to van Roij, despite giving the model greater versatility, preserving or even improving dynamic performance is one of its objectives.

Apart from the creation of this electric shooting brake, van Roij's design studio, the Niels van Roij Design Studio, located in London, presents in their website two other interesting designs, such as a Rolls Royce also converted into a shooting brake, or his idea of the future London taxi.

“Based on extensive design research, we developed the brand DNA for this shooting brake. The conversion blends seamlessly with Tesla's base vehicle, while clearly communicating through shapes, design and materials that it is a shooting brake." explained Niels van Roij about his project.

The offer of a vehicle in this segment and of these characteristics is very scarce. Most electrified vehicles are originally SUVs or cars specifically for the city, reducing family models to a few. It is here that RemetzCar and Niels van Roij have been able to see a gap in the market to try their luck with this project in which they will manufacture, at least initially, 20 units.
