The best-selling car in the Spanish market is an SUV, something that does not surprise us at all. However, that model is Hyundai Tucson. It is a car that has achieved the number one position thanks mainly to its good quality/price ratio.

A few months ago we were already testing it, although now we are testing it again with its mechanical 1.6 CRDi 136 CV diesel, automatic gearbox and sportier finish called N Line Sky. Also, it's four wheel drive and has the tag ECO of the DGT thanks to its microhybridization.

Appearance with a lot of personality

Si we started talking about exterior design, Tucson stands out for its very marked and irregular lines, especially on the side. On the other hand, it has shapes that are pleasing to the eye and even more so in this N Line finish, which is characterized by a more sporty appearance.

In the frontal zone They mainly highlight their full LED optics divided into several groups and that, at night, gives a very futuristic feeling. We also find a very sporty bumper with gloss black areas for greater contrast, black plastics while the lower lip is silver.

Continuing to the side, this is where the irregular lines mentioned above are most noticeable. The wheel arches in this N Line finish are not in plastic, but in the color of the bodywork and cause a sportier sensation to match the 19 inch rims.

This feeling remains back with very characteristic full LED optics, they mainly have vertical lines although they are joined together by a red stripe that also lights up. Also, rear spoiler and diffuser play a fundamental role in giving you once again that so aggressive look

Elegant interior but with too much piano black

Entering the cabin of this Hyundai, we appreciate a innovative design that attracts attention due to its shapes. It is mainly made up of areas with padding although we have, in my opinion, excessive use of gloss black, especially in the area of ​​the multimedia screen and air conditioning. In any case, its adjustments are good and nothing squeaks.

As to technological equipment, we find a 10,25-inch digital instrument cluster, that although it is not very configurable, we have everything you need about driving information. The team of infotainment is the same size 10,25 inches, and has Apple Car Play and Android Auto.

I liked that at least we have the climate control at hand. Yes, it is tactile, but it is easy to adjust any parameter to our liking, a detail that is gradually being lost as it is fully incorporated into the vehicle's multimedia screen.

Their front seats They do not have electrical adjustment, something that has surprised me considering the finish and price of this unit. In the end, it is one of those "pijadas" that people like for the ease they offer to find the most comfortable position. Even so, they are very comfortableThey have an alcantara-like fabric and a heating function, but I miss more lateral support.

The Hyundai Tucson offers spacious rear seats

El Tucson is clearly a family car, is something that we realize quickly when we see the great habitability that it offers in its rear seats. I am 1,94 meters tall and the space for my knees and head is still outstanding with the seat adjusted to my height, a very positive point.

On the other hand, the curtains for the windows, the side seats have heating function and they offer us two USB-type sockets. I did not like at all not to find ventilation outlets, a detail that surprised me because it is not common in a car in this segment today.

Enough space in the trunk of the Hyundai Tucson

As to its trunk, the Tucson passes outstandingly thanks to its 546 liters capacity. The shapes are very square and the loading mouth is located in a slightly high position. Besides, the opening is electric with hands-free function, something that when we are loaded, we will appreciate.

Well, it is a car with a very familiar approach but with a sporty touch in your set-up. The chassis is good suspension has a slightly hard setting but without being uncomfortable, thus offering a rocking that is not excessive, although its engine is not agile at all.

What if, it is not a car that runs, its 0 to 100 does it in 11,8 seconds, but it is noticeable with enough strength to move freely, something that we will appreciate in order to be loaded. Perhaps with a little more power, I would classify it as outstanding for day-to-day use, but since it has a somewhat lazy response, I prefer to leave it as notable.

By this I mean that in the end It is an engine to go quiet. We cannot pretend to overtake on secondary roads in any gap that we see, we have to think about it a couple of times before doing it. Even so, it is still more than enough for the average use that these models are focused on.

You can appreciate the good function performed by HTRAC traction, making the loss of traction very complicated both on a curved road and on an unpaved road, although in this N Line finish I think it will tread little field.

What about your isolation and address?

An aspect that I liked its isolation, even at 120 km / h, for an SUV, everything is very well soundproofed and you only slightly hear the aerodynamic noise caused by the exterior mirrors. The tread itself is somewhat more appreciable due to somewhat wide and somewhat noisy tires.

As to its addressWell, well, the usual in a crossover of these characteristics. Everything is very filtered and although yes, it is comfortable, does not give much "feeling". I personally would like it to be more tactful and better informed of what is happening on the front axle.

Consumption Hyundai Tucson

Next we have to talk about one of the sections that we also have to take into account, the consumptions. The Tucson with this mechanic in mixed use is normal to see around the 6,1 liters at 100, a more than acceptable figure considering its characteristics.

Furthermore, in city ​​around 7,5 l/100km while on the highway, at legal speeds, the average can be around 5,5 liters per 100km. The truth is that they are good consumptions for the type of vehicle that it is, so nothing blameworthy in this aspect on the Korean SUV.

In general, it seems to me to be a very complete car, the product/price ratio is acceptable in this configuration and its level of equipment is very high, without options, all around the finishes.

How to Live Aligned with positive points To highlight, I would point out its habitability, it is a very spacious car and capable of offering enough space for a family with all the luggage. On the other hand, the consumption is very contained for the volume it has, the weight and the four-wheel drive and to conclude, the famous DGT ECO sticker, a very favorable point.

On negative section, I have not been convinced by the excessive piano black that we find inside, a somewhat impoverished infotainment system and rear seats without any type of ventilation outlets or USB, something not too logical when we do have, for example, heated seats.
