Yesterday's important leak served us to whet our appetite for the new Mercedes C63 AMG, the sportiest version that the German saloon will enjoy for the time being. The model will debut before the public at the Paris Motor Show, but the brand has already officially revealed the first information about this new model that yields up to 510CV of power in the S versions and that will be offered both in the four-door saloon bodywork and in the recently presented family car.

Under the hood we find a new engine 8-liter V4.0 with twin supercharging that will deliver at the lowest power level of the C63 AMG the not inconsiderable figure of 476CV in a range between 5.500 and 6.250 revolutions while the 650Nm of torque will have an impressive range that goes from 1.750 revolutions to 4.500. If this were not enough, the version always remains to be chosen. AMG-S, which raises its power to 510CV and torque to 700Nm. The best of all is that the approved average consumption starts at 8.2 liters, reducing by 32% the consumption of the previous C63 AMG with a 8-liter V6.3 engine.

The gearbox is AMG seven-speed speedshift with noticeably faster management in Sport + and manual modes, where the change makes use of a more radical electronic management. Traction is to the rear axle and this will be where we find the mechanical limited-slip differential while the S models have it electronic. We also found that the C63 AMG S mounts the dynamic motor mounts, which adapt to the driving situation to offer more comfort or greater sensations. An optional AMG Performance sports exhaust on both models is also the way to make everyone look at us and hear us coming from afar.

Moving on these power figures, it is not surprising that the 0-100 of the sedan stops the stopwatch in 4,1 seconds, while the family model needs a tenth more. On this occasion the S versions lower the times by one tenth, marking 4,0 seconds for the saloon and 4,1 for the relative. In any case, it will not be possible to exceed 250 kilometers per hour with the standard configuration, since there is an electronic limitation. To improve the driving sensations there is a controlled suspension and the different driving modes that show us the most versatile sports sedan.

In the aesthetic section, the Mercedes C63 AMG sports a sportier body kit and 18″ and 19″ alloy wheels on the S model, which can house a carbon-ceramic brake system inside. It is not particularly striking considering that the AMG package that any C-Class motorization can equip is quite similar. At the front, the large air intakes of the bumper stand out, while at the rear the prominence falls on the diffuser with four exhausts two by two and the discreet spoiler on the boot lid.

Inside we find highest build quality, with an environment where leather is the protagonist on seats, door panels and dashboard, accompanied by a center console in satin aluminum as well as black and chrome details and even a analog clock in the center console, which is optional. The clock panel is specific to these AMG versions, as is the three-spoke sports steering wheel. Next to the touchpad on the center console we find the controls for different settings such as suspension or driving modes. Of course the number of optional it is huge and one can end up with a unique C63 AMG.

As usual in each Mercedes launch, the C63 AMG will hit the market with the limited series called Edition 1, of which at the moment there are no photographs. They stand out for different exclusive elements that combine perfectly with the six available body colors. The Edition 1 will be available in both four-door and family body.

All these models will be equipped with 19″ wheels with 245/35 tires at the front and 265/35 at the rear, in addition to the Night package that includes thes gloss black exterior chrome and some red decals. The interior will sport red seat belts and sports seats as well as parts of the interior trimmed in black Nappa leather with contrast stitching. The steering wheel will be wrapped in suede leather and will feature Edition 1 inscription, among other details of this launch edition.
