The success of the Renault Kadjar forces to increase production in Palencia

When a model goes on the market there is always a greater initial expectation, which translates into greater demand. The Renault Kadjar is factory in Palencia exclusively for the more than 40 countries in which it is marketed. That implies that if the Kadjar is doing well, so is Palencia. The great initial demand for the Renault Kadjar is going to do, from the outset, that the Spanish factory take back the third shift, which had disappeared at the end of 2011. It will be from next Monday, September 21, when this new production shift will come into force, which will employ 1.000 people.

The incorporation of this shift will allow Palencia to manufacture a total of 6.400 weekly vehicles, including the current Mégane. Five months ago, in April 2015, production of the Renault Kadjar began on an assembly line shared with the Renault Mégane. To date, in the two existing shifts, 900 vehicles have been manufactured daily, 450 of which correspond to the Kadjar. The demand will also have a positive impact on the engine plants in Valladolid and gearboxes in Seville, which are also suppliers for the Kadjar.

The Renault Kadjar is for sale in Spain from 19.850 euros and is offered in four trim levels. The engine range includes a 1.2 TCe turbo gasoline 130 hp, with six-speed manual gearbox or two diesel 1.6 dCi with 110 hp and 130 hp. The least powerful can opt for the EDC dual-clutch transmission, while the 4×4 drive is exclusive to the 130 hp.
