El The automobile sector is of vital importance for our country, because we have several factories in different parts of our geography that employ thousands of people directly and indirectly, not to mention the high number of exports. One of these plants is Volkswagen in Navarre, where a large-volume model is produced, such as the Volkswagen Polo.
This utility vehicle from the German firm has been produced uninterrupted since 1984. During the month of April a round figure has been reached in said factory: the Volkswagen Polo number 8 million. It has been an orange unit with a 1.6 hp 95 TDI diesel engine. Curious that, although it is the 8 millionth Polo unit manufactured in Spain, it does not stay in our country, but goes to Germany.
Production of the Polo is going to drop partially with the arrival at the factory lines of the new Volkswagen T-Cross. In 2018, a total of 272.272 units were manufactured, of which 272.041 were Volkswagen Polo. Forecasts say that this factory will "give life" to some 320.000 cars in 2019, of which 177.000 will be Polo.
Among other data, it should be noted that the 90% of the production in this plant during the past year 2018 was exported. The main destination of Polo last year was Germany, which took 22% of the production; followed by Italy -with 15%- and France -with 14,5%-. from Navarra, the Volkswagen Polo reaches more than 40 countries, what is said soon
