We already know what it will cost to recharge a Tesla in Spain

Tesla Superchargers full

One of the advantages when buying a Tesla until now it had been free charging on its Supercharger network. Although a couple of months ago the Silicon Valley firm announced that this service would no longer be free for new customers. Whoever bought a Tesla from this year 2017 would have to pay for the use of Superchargers, the same decision that was made for all Model 3 buyers.

today, sunday January 15, 2017, you start charging for refills. And we already know the rate that will be applied in our country for using this service. In Spain it will cost €0,24/kWh, a figure that will continue to be cheaper than refueling gasoline. For example, in a Tesla Model S P100D (top of the range with a 100 kWh battery), a full recharge would cost 24 euros. In this example, the autonomy can exceed 500 kilometers, therefore the cost would be below 5 euros per 100 kilometers.

Tesla Supercharger Europe

As in traditional combustion vehicles, autonomy varies depending on use that we give him, but the cost a priori does not seem unreasonable. Although in Spain the negative part is that we have a fairly small network of Superchargers. As you can see on the map, we are one of the countries with the fewest fast charging points. For now we have 8 stations, located mainly in the area of the Mediterranean coast.

We hope that in the coming years this network will expand. Meanwhile we have to say that new customers will also have 400 kWh free vouchers. They will be renewed annually and with them it is estimated that they will be able to travel about 1.600 kilometers. Once spent, the aforementioned €0,24/kWh will have to be paid. If we want to leave our country, the prices vary by region. For example, in France it costs €0,20/kWh and in Italy €0,25/kWh. The cheapest will be Norway with €0,15/kWh.
