Suzuki Liters x Kilos, the consumer charity competition raises more than 2.000 kg of food

Liters x Kilos Suzuki

This week we have participated in the 4th edition of Suzuki Liters x Kilos, a solidarity competition whose winner is always the Food Bank. The objective is simple and challenging at the same time: reduce the consumption of the car as much as possible during a route predetermined by the organization. The lower the consumption, the more kilos of food Suzuki donates.

The test took place on December 4 in real driving conditions around Madrid. The vehicle chosen for the occasion was a Suzuki Vitara 1.4 VVT 4×4 Boosterjet (petrol 140 hp) completely standard. We were shooting on a road open to traffic and no type of modification or touch-up to the vehicle that could affect its consumption was allowed. For more challenge part of the dashboard was hidden in such a way that we could not see data related to consumption, so we had to be guided only by our intuition to reduce spending.

The average figures obtained by the participants were around 4,2 litres/100 km, while finally the winning couple crossed the finish line with a spectacular fuel consumption of 4,0 l/100 km and a time of 0:58:45 with an average speed of 58,7 km/h.

As you can imagine, we practice a very efficient driving. Very smooth acceleration, a lot of prediction to make the most of the car's inertia, use the brake pedal very little and drive at stabilized speeds, thus avoiding changes in pace.

A round of applause for Suzuki, we hope to participate for many more years.
