How could it be otherwise, the Tarraco is developed on the Volkswagen Group's MQB A+ modular platform. Specifically, it adapts a version with an extended wheelbase of the platform, it is the same architecture that is used in other products of the house, such as the Skoda Kodiaq or Volkswagen tiguan allspace, the two in turn can be considered as twinned natural rivals.

Being the largest SUV in the house is demonstrated in quite generous measures that position it perfectly in the D-SUV segment. 4,73 meters long, 1,84 meters wide and 1,66 meters high. To these external dimensions must be added a wheelbase of 2,79 meters. Enough battle to homologate a maximum of seven passengers, the last two located in two retractable seats under the floor of the trunk, (version not available for PHEV models).

These two additional seats are part of the optional equipment of the SEAT Tarraco, as it comes standard with a configuration for five seats. Regarding the cargo volume, a minimum volume of 700 liters for units with seven seats and 760 liters for those with five (610 liters for PHEV models). The maximum volume can grow to 1.775 liters in the first case and 1.920 liters for the second, both obtained by folding down the second row of seats.

Seat Tarraco e-Hybrid

As SEAT's most modern SUV, the Tarraco has a range of engines adapted to the new times, complying with the new European emission regulations. The mechanical portfolio of the SEAT Tarraco includes two petrol versions, two diesels and a plug-in hybrid. The latter is positioned as the most powerful of the family. The Tarraco 1.4 develops 245 horsepower, homologates 1,6 liters per 100 kilometers and has an electric range of 49 kilometers.

The gasoline range has two engines. In a first echelon of performance is the turbocharged four-cylinder block called 1.5 TSI. Develops 150 horsepower and 250 Nm of torque. Above it we find the block 2.0 TSI with 190 horsepower and 320 Nm of torque. With seven-speed manual or DSG automatic transmissions, only the most powerful model can be mated with 4Drive all-wheel drive.

As for the diesel offer, only one engine is available. It's about the block 2.0 TDI four-cylinder turbo. In this case it is able to develop two different powers: 150 and 200 horsepower. In the first case, it is associated with a six-speed manual transmission, while in the second, a seven-speed DSG box (optional for the 2.0 hp 150 TDI).
