Since the now extinct FCA and PSA groups merged, the news has not stopped. As a result of the union, a universe has emerged that for many seemed almost impossible to govern with solvency. The example of management that unites efficiency but also slowness is that of the Volkswagen Group and that is often not good. However, they had kept an ace up their sleeve: Stellantis is commanded by Carlos Tavares one of the best CEOs.
And things as they are, even with everything against him, he has opted for all the brands that make up Stellantis. Lancia is one of the most endangered because his activity was limited to his native country, Italy, and to a veteran model. And if it hadn't been for the synergies that they thought of, he probably would have died. But that was left behind and now it's time to talk about the future and it is for this that they have met in Turin. And look, because in Spain it will be sold very soon...
Francesco Colonnese will be the new "Brand Manager" of Lancia for Spain...
As you well know, because we have told you about it here, in 2024 the new generation of the Lancia Ypsilon will arrive. The urban legend will mutate to update its sales arguments and, above all, adapt to electrification. Now it will be bigger will approach 4 meters and, located in segment B, it will have an electric drivetrain. Looking ahead to 2026, the Lancia flagship will arrive. Will be called Aurelia, will be 4,6 meters long and will be electric.
Now, by 2028, it's time for the return of a myth. The new Lancia Delta will be 4,4 meters long and it will be a sculpted and muscular model that will sport geometric lines that will recall its more primitive predecessors. With these three models they want cover 50% of the market share of the sector and, above all, of the premium spectrum. In this way, they comply with the strategic plan "Dare Forward 2030" that Stellantis announced a handful of months ago.
The result of this management will be the following. From the year 2026 they will only sell 100% electric vehicles and by 2028 their sales will be limited to this type of vehicle. All this under a new sale model which according to them is innovative. Is that 50% will be managed directly through an online channel affecting the operating margin per unit sold since it will be higher by eliminating dealers as intermediaries.
And most importantly, to achieve these goals they have to return to Europe. Outside of Italy there will be a total of 100 new distributors spread over 60 major cities. In fact, Lancia is already ready and has appointed five Brand Managers for France, Germany, Spain, Belgium and the Netherlands. For our country the chosen one is Francesco Colonnese although we still don't know when they will start their activity officially.
It will be later, perhaps when they present the new Ypsilon, that we will have more data. It's time to be patient...
